Saint-Vincent
It is certainly one of the communes more known of Aosta Valley, place in a privileged position from the point of view change, on the Fondovalle, well exposed to the sun. Not in case of the inhabitants there settled already during the Bronze Age; other archaeological finds they testify to the presence of the Salassi people.
Certainly, there was settled by the Romans, of which you can still admire the ruins of an audacious bridge Arcata unique; other remains of Roman works have been found under the parish church and it is established that extend to below the buildings surrounding. As regards the Middle Ages we scarce testimonies, from which it claims that the village was to be surrounded by walls and that was not devoid of any importance since it was seat of a weekly market.
The historic turning point of destiny of the town was in 1770, where the abbot Jean-Baptiste Perret discovered a source particular, that of famous thermal water, diuretic and purgative. For more than 150 years there was a crescendo of interest to the thermal cures, with consequent development of the tourism sector-hotel sector which culminated in the birth of the Casino.
